Two pie charts are shown describing the reasons for migration to and from the UK during 2007. Each color represents a different cause for either immigration or emigration.
Focusing on immigration we can observe that more than half of people that migrate to the UK do so beacuse of formal studies (26%) or a definite job (30%). Looking for work comprised 12% of immigration, very similar to the amount of people that arrived beacause of accompany/joining other people. 11% stated other reasons and only 6% of people did not state a reason.
Interestingly, a definite job elsewhere represented the highest percentage for people leaving the UK, with 29%. Looking for work was also an important issue, as it amounted to 22%. However, significantly less people migrate for formal studies, just 6%, compared to the immigration data. 13% left accompanying or joining another person. 14% of people migrated for other reasons and a similiar number did not stated a reason (18%).
The pie charts shown describe the different reasons for people leaving or entering the UK in 2007. Formal studies, a definite job, looking for work, accompany/join, and other reasons were evaluated.
