Who is responsible for human health care?

To begin, most of us know that junk food is unhealthy. We know that poor nutrition is related to heart problems, high blood pressure, and a host of other health ailments. We might even know that studies show that eating junk food has been linked to increases in depression.

Furthermore, eating a poor quality diet high in junk food is linked to a higher risk of obesity, digestive issues, heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, and cancer. Nowadays, there are plenty of options for this kind of foods at the supermarkets, even cheaper than healthy food. I believe that there are proportional relationships between eating healthy and spend more money; for that reason, junk foods are more intake.

Given the well‐documented relationship between lifestyle, disease burden, and healthcare costs, it makes economic and medical sense to hold individuals morally responsible for their health‐related choices. However, the truth is that all sections of current society have a part of the responsibility for health. For instance, the food manufacturers reducing nutrients such as salt, fat or sugar in our food, the national government or local authorities seeking to limit junk-food outlets near schools, or even the individuals who are looking for be healthy everyday when they buy cereals for breakfast or when they go to the gym.

In conclusion, everyone is responsible for health, either as individuals or collective society we have the power to choose what is convenient for us and what is not.

Healthy diet

Healthy diet is a very important topic in the current days. some people know the benefits of eat healthy food but, who is the responsible to educate to all of community?.  Some people believe that responsibility is of the government, other part of the community believe that is a personal responsibility. I think that both have responsibility.

First, the government have the responsibility to keep safe and health the community. The obesity has had an important increase on the last decade, which generate health problems in the society. The grow is big, for that reason the government have to develop strategies to stop the obesity. For example, in Chile exist a law to reconosing not healthy food that have count high in fat, sodium, calories and sugar.

The second important topic is the individual responsibility

Some people believe that it is the responsibility of individuals to take care of their own health and diet. Others, however, believe that governments should make sure that their citizens have a healthy diet. (Write at least 20 words)

Essay

There are some ideas about the responsibility to have a healthy lifestyle, it can be able having a healthy diet and do some sports if people wouldn´t have life in megacities. Some people believe that it is the government's responsibility to make sure that people have a good life. On the next paragraphs, we going to look through these two points of view.

First, there is no doubt for having a good life we as a human being should try to have a healthy life. For example, we must schedule the 3 points of meals with proportional food, there is a mean good balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and vitamins. On the other hand, many cases students and workers must not eat fast food because it can produce some body fat and having not good growth for younger people.

In front of the second idea, we can say that it is beneficial if the government would have more control of greenhouse gases to provide cleaner foods. In another case, the government should provide some regular attention to food companies, specifically what they are using to make food. The government should implement a specific hour for having lunch back to the companies. In contrast, people should be encouraged by TV advertisements.

In conclusion, I think to have a good food meal we have the opportunity to have a healthy life and stronger during life.

Essay:

In the last years, the number of fat people is increasing. In order to solve this situation it is necessary to identify the main roots of the problem. One root is related to the food availability and the other root is related to the energy balance of each person.

The food availability depends on the place were you live, but, in general terms, is related to what kind of food you can get by yourself (for example in the supermarket). Obviously, here we meet a big problem, related to the money, because the "bad food" is cheaper than the "good food". For this reason, it is important that the governments need to regulate the quality and prices of the food in order to get healthier people.

The calories balance is related to the ratio between the energy from the ingested food and the energy expended in different activities. If the incoming energy is higher than the expended energy, the result is a fat person. So, it is important to do a lot of different activities in order to be healthy.

As conclusion, in order to get healthy people, the governments need to regulate the food market, and the people need to be motivated to do different physical activities.

Personal Responsibility v/s Government Legislation in Diets

Personal Responsibility v/s Government Legislation in Diets

Probably for the first time in history, stand of dealing with a shortage of food supplies and poor nutrition in citizens around the world, we are facing an era where population can easily access food in large portions up to the point where it might be even dangerous to do so.
Currently, Chile ranks numbers 6th in obesity disorder around the world, after US, UK and Canada. Therefore, the amount of food we intake and the reaction our bodies have towards it are serious problems and we need to decide what can we do about it and where does resposability lie regarding it.
Some people are prompted to think the issue is completely related with personal will. This point of view perceives obesity as a matter of restraint, if you do not want to be fat, you need to stop eating. This extreme simplification overlooks deep economic, political, health and mental issues which are strongly related with food consumption and its deseases. On the other hand, some views will argue Government regulation should be involved and nutrition should become a State matter.
Both perspectives have developed major industries and in consequence, they have strong advocates in one side or another. Diet industries such as Weight Watchers have been in the market for decades with little results to prove their success. State nutrition policies are involved in early stages of childcare as well as throughout school and university education with a lack of value for money to argue for. Neither option seems to be the appropriate one.
As we watched in the previous video, a major cultural change has been performed and it is rarely addressed by mainstream discussion.  We do not grow our own food any longer. Few people grow their own vegetables and fruits and even less take care of animals in order to access meat. We are used to buy and eat processed food in supermarkets and to trust the food industry to provide the proper nutrients our bodies need. I think, this behavior supports a naive attitude towards the problem. Industries take care mostly for the economic interests of shareholders and investors. Hence, if something is profitable is a big lip to think it is healthy as well.
I think one important solution towards the problem is to restore community gardens and growing food education, as well as to discuss the shortage of time to cook and eat that our modern way of life impose on us daily. Of course, this means responsibility lies both in our personal decisions and in State regulations to ensure a better quality of life.

Essay Diego Morales

Nowadays, the indexes of obesity extremely rise. In that way, it is important that people and governments take care of people's health and diet programs. I believe that bieng healthy depends on each person. On the other hand it would be helpful that governments improve laws in order to have access to a healthy diet. I will give some reasons that support it.

Firstly, the better health the more strict diet people do. In that way, it is the responsibility of each one to have a good diet. Moreover, people have to choose the correct diet programs to be success. For example, beginners can not stand a rigorous diet programs then as a consequence they quit the program. Diet programs could be the best but if people do not maintain it for a long time they can have a good health.
Second, the governments should develop laws in order to allow people to have access to diet programs. Furthermore, governments must create laws which reduce the production of junk food and sugary snacks and increase the production of healthy food.
In summary, I believe that having a good health is the responsibility of people and governments. Because there are things that people can do for their health and there are things that governments can do to permit people have a better health.
Nutrition and specifically obesity is one of the most important topics of modern society. In this regard, diets are an issue, as there is a debate around who is responsible for regulating them: the individual or the government. I will be addressing the arguments for and against each perspective and hopefully show that one cannot live without the other.

From the individual perspective, we should recognize that the ultimate goal in this issue is that people can live long and healthy lives. However, because of freedom of action, human beings on their own are responsible for the way they live. No one can force them in a truly free society.

For those who wish to improve their lifestyles an important question is how to do so. Interest on the best diets exists and the topic has escalated in the pucblic since Banting's publications more than 150 years ago on how to eat properly. Nevertheless, according to Stanford studies on diets by Dr. Gardner, it does not matter what programs people follow, but rather to embrace a lifestyle that through simple decisions can cut the excess of fat and carbohydrates from daily meals. This decisions rely on the general will of individuals.

On the other hand, we should also consider that people are highly susciptible to the exposure and information in their social environment. Culture is a central point that influences the behavior of humanity and the decisions that people take, in all aspects of life. Diets are no exception. Here is where government can have its greater impact on nutrition. Campaignes on healthy practices, laws against excessive junk food advertisement, promotion of correct education on nutrition since childhood can improve the way people manage their diets in adulthood.

In conclusion, individuals and government actions are both important in the fight against obesity to develop a healhy society with better lifespan and quality of life. Governements should promote education in this field as well to regulate junk food. Individuals should apply their will power to incorporate appropriate lifestyles through simple decisions based on reducing the intake of fats and carbohydrates.
